Ex'tax in EU Manifesto

19 Dec 2012

December 17, the prestigious European Resource Efficiency Platform has signed a MANIFESTO FOR A RESOURCE-EFFICIENT EUROPE demanding, amongst others, a shift of taxes from labour to resources.

The Platform, chaired by former Irish Prime Minister John Burton, consists of amongst others, five European Commissioners, four Ministers of Environment, OECD and UN representatives, CEOs of Unilever, KPMG and Siemens and the President of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development.

The Platform pushes Europe to innovate, to abolish environmentally harmful subsidies and tax-breaks, and to make sure that resource efficiency gets high on the political and business agendas by creating measurable goals towards a circular economy.
